Let's Go To Barbados!

Updated: Oct 12, 2022

Let's face it, Mondays are better when they don't require an alarm clock. The best way to toss away those Monday blues is to enjoy a little island time.

Looking for a little tropical inspiration? One of our agents, Amy Frank, just returned from Sandals Royal Barbados and has the 4-1-1 on everything you need to know about this island paradise. Check out her review below:

I recently had the opportunity to travel to Sandals Royal Barbados and was completely wowed by this resort! There are two Sandals properties in Barbados; Sandals Barbados, and Sandals Royal Barbados and they are the newest properties in the Sandals brand with the exception of Sandals Royal Curacao opening in April 2022. They are in the St. Lawrence Gap area of Barbados and only 15 minutes from the airport. The two resorts are located right next to each other. You can actually go between the two and not even realize you’ve moved from one side to the other. The best part is that when you stay at one you get full access to both no matter which one you are staying at!

What I loved about Sandals Royal Barbados…

The rooms. This resort is perfect for guests who are looking for modern and luxurious rooms. There are so many room category choices, and the rooms are beautiful regardless of what category you are in. All rooms are suites and are either club or butler level. Club level room categories include a stocked mini bar, dedicated club lounge & room service until 10pm. Butler room categories include private Rolls Royce transfers, private in room check-in, 24-hour room service, and a phone with direct access to your butler to handle your every request. Honestly, having a butler is the way to go if your budget allows!

The FOOD. With 20 restaurants to choose from (plus room service) you will never go hungry. I have found the food quality to be consistently high throughout all the Sandals Resort properties. For all-inclusive food, I think you will be pleasantly surprised with how good the food is. Coming soon to Sandals Royal Barbados are two new restaurants; Heart & Sol, a New York-style deli featuring fresh and healthy ingredients and The Greenhouse, the first Sandals restaurant to offer a modern, farm-to-table concept. Oh, and did I mention that they have a donut shop?

Insider tip: There a few restaurants that require reservations. Make sure to make dining reservations as soon as you arrive on property as these can fill up quickly. Having a butler will increase your chances of securing your desired dining reservations.

The POOLS. Sandals Royal Barbados is the first Sandals Resort to have a rooftop infinity pool and it is amazing. Between the two resorts (Sandals Barbados and Sandals Royal Barbados) there are 6 pools, and they are all gorgeous. There are several room categories that have direct access to a crystal lagoon right from your room patio. And if you are looking for the ultimate experience, you can have your very own private plunge pool in a Skypool Butler Suite or Rondoval Butler Suite.

Insider tip: The rooftop bar, Sky is the perfect place to grab a drink before dinner and watch the sunset.

The BEACH.

The beach is beautiful! The sand is white, and the water is clear. There is a rock wall to cut down on the big waves so guests and swim. Please note that the water can be rough at times though. Non-motorized sports such as kayaks, paddle boards and Hobie Cats are included.

Things to keep in mind when traveling to Sandals Royal Barbados:

  • Dining reservations (for select restaurants) for both resorts are released on Saturdays and get booked up quickly.

  • Lounge chairs begin to fill up quickly. This is where have a butler comes in handy!

  • Currently a COVID test is required to reenter the United States upon the completion of your vacation. Sandals Royal Barbados will have you log into an online portal to schedule your return test.
