The Carnival Venezia: A closer look into this newly reimagined ship.

Updated: Oct 5, 2023

It's an amazing time for the cruise line industry. New ships are being announced often and that means more opportunities for your family to have some fun sailing the "High Seas." Recently MMV was invited to a special event to celebrate one of these "new ships" with Carnival Cruise Line. Take a look at their thoughts on the Carnival Venezia.

She is finally part of the Carnival Fleet! On Wednesday June 14th, Jenn Longo and Krista Devlin had the honor of being part of the naming ceremony for the new Carnival Venezia. (Pronounced Vuh-net-see-uh)

The Venezia was adopted from Costa Cruise Line, which is part of a Carnival Corporation. It was originally launched just before Covid and then taken out of service due to the fact it sailed Asia and that part of the world has not fully recovered. The ship was redesigned and now has a Mediterranean feel. It’s like you’re walking through Venice, Italy.

Their Venice vibe is throughout the ship, everywhere you look, from top to bottom. As you step onboard into the Piazza San Marco you will see a flying horse from Basilica San Marco. As you look around, you'll also see incredible touches of Italian art and Italian artifacts. There’s even a completely restored gondola in the Canal Grande Dining Room. As you walk the decks, you will see artwork that takes you straight to Venice.

The shipboard amenities are plentiful, with many nooks and crannies to explore. There are bars a plenty on board. There's a lido deck with a retractable roof and there are many different eating choices ...from the most casual areas such as Guys Burger Joint to upscale dining options including Fahrenheit 555, Il Viaggio Italian and so much more.

Entertainment on board will range from stage production shows in Teatro Rosso, the main showroom to comedy in the Punchliner Club. There's trivia and other contests that are held around the ship throughout the cruise. Regardless of activities, there will be lots of fun, with an Italian flair.

Our impression of the ship is very, very positive. This is definitely not your average Carnival Cruise ship. This is a totally different and exciting experience. It's the perfect vacation for the entire family!
Check out the WaterWorks Water Park onboard!

The Carnival Venezia will be sailing from New York until December of 2024. Itineraries will include Bermuda, the Bahamas, and Canada. This ship departs from Manhattan, so it is a great addition for sailing from a Northeast port. You may even consider visiting NYC a few days pre or post cruise, take in the Big Apple.

If you're looking for a new way to see the big blue, the Carnival Venezia may be exactly what you've been looking for! Contact your MMV agent today to start planning!
