The 2022 D23 Expo in Anaheim, California kicked off September 9th at the Anaheim Convention Center!
Taking place every other year, this event welcomes Disney fans from all over to join together and celebrate everything the Disney company is, was, and will become. Each day of the convention is dedicated to certain portions of "Disney." Tomorrow (Sunday the 11th) is considered by some the most anticipated day for Disney Parks fans ... as we will get to hear details about future plans for Disney Destinations across the globe.

Disneyland; Anaheim, California
New meet and greets are headed our way soon at Disneyland
Kicking off in mid-November the Mandalorian and Grogu will be making an appearance around Batuu inside Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge. Also, joining Avengers Campus' amazing cast of characters is THE HULK! That's right, everyone's favorite big green guy will appear at Avengers Campus starting NEXT WEEK!
Pacific Wharf will become a new land soon
Disney California Adventure Park's Pacific Wharf will soon be reimagined into San Fransokyo (the location where the movie Big Hero 6 took place).
New attraction coming to Avengers Campus
While we don't have an official name, a new attraction will be coming to Avengers Campus. Taking place inside the Multiverse, guests can experience a multitude of Marvel characters including a "King Thanos" (picture a Thanos who won)!
Toon Town Update
Inside Disneyland, Toon Town is currently getting a magical makeover. Today at the D23 Expo, concept art was shared for what guests can experience. As some of you may know, Disneyland is also getting a Mickey and Minnie's Runaway Railway, like what we can now experience inside Disney's Hollywood Studios. Today they added that this ride will have its own adventure featured that will match it's Toon Town surroundings.
Nighttime fun at Disneyland and Disney California Adventure Park
Two new nighttime spectaculars — “World of Color – One” and a new fireworks show “Wondrous Journeys” — will kick off in late January at Disneyland Resort.
“World of Color – One” at Disney California Adventure will span the broad storytelling legacy of Disney’s first 100 years and tell a new story through Disney classics and new favorites.
Disney's Paradise Pier Hotel becomes Disney's Pixar Place
Another important update is the official announcement is that Disney's Paradise Pier Hotel (which is currently under renovation) will soon become Disney's Pixar Place. We have been waiting on the edge of our seats for this announcement and we look forward to seeing this reimagined location.
RunDisney returns to the Happiest Place on Earth in 2023!
Runners this announcement is for you. RunDisney events, which have not taken place since the beginning of the pandemic, will return to the Disneyland Resort next year.
Also, Downtown Disney will soon enjoy a fresh look with new dining locations for guests to enjoy!
Downtown Disney, which is conveniently located near the parks at Disneyland, will welcome new California favorites (like Porto’s Bakery & Café) to its already hit list of dining options.
Welcome Tiana to the Happiest and Most Magical Places on Earth
One last update that we need to share is that Tiana's Bayou Adventure will open late 2024!

Journey of Water Update
Over at EPCOT ...Journey of Water, will open in late 2023, inviting guests to follow the story of water on the planet, inspired by Moana’s connection to the ocean.
Also at EPCOT, coming soon to greet guests in a new way, is everyone's favorite dragon, FIGMENT!
Haunted Mansion Update
We are happy to say that Disney has heard our pleas, the Hatbox Ghost will soon be joining the happy haunts at the Haunted Mansion inside the Magic Kingdom!
Tron Update
The highly anticipate TRON Lightcycle / Run will invite guests to enter the Grid in spring 2023.
Magic Kingdom Expansion
One major announcement was made during the panel involving the Magic Kingdom. Currently Disney Imagineers are looking into expanding "Beyond Big Thunder Mountain." Ideas including the possibility of a Coco expansion or even a Disney Villains land were mentioned. We are very excited to see what this may bring.
Updates Coming to Disney's Animal Kingdom
While specifics are not yet released, we now know that Disney Imagineers are currently working on a plan to reimagine the Dinoland U.S.A. area of Disney's Animal Kingdom. This area will one day feature Zootopia and Moana inspired lands.
Nighttime Entertainment at the Magic Kingdom
One of our favorite updates of the day though has to be that next year the nighttime spectacular, Happily Ever After will return to the Most Magical Place on Earth!
Disney Cruise Line
Hello Disney Treasure
This year Disney Cruise Line welcomed the Disney Wish to the fleet. We are happy to announce that the sixth ship to join the DCL family will be the Disney Treasure! This gorgeous ship is set to sail the high seas in 2024!

The atrium will feature Aladdin, Jasmine, and their magic carpet who will welcome guests to a ship filled with adventure.
